I would like to tell you how i am scandalised by what the illegal behaviour of the mananager of the hotel Korcula yesterday and today; this behaviour make Hotel Korcula the shame of Korcula.
I had booked a room to Korcula Hotel through booking.com; I had given my American Express credit card information, and received the confirmation of the booking of one double room for one night on sept 13 in Korcula Hotel. According to this document, the hotel was due to give me such a room, and would have been able to withdraw 132 euros from my account if I don’t show or cancel after sept 10.
When I arrived yesterday at the hotel at 7 PM, the manager told me than there were no more room avalaible in the hotel, and that we had to go to a private room that belongued to the hotel, that we had to accept that, and that if we didn’t, we could go away. In that case, I guess the hotel would have taken 132 euros from my account.
The manager of the hotel tord that the price of the private room would be 66 euros
As the time was late and we were in Korcula for only one night, i was forced to accept. This room was a shame in itself. It had no window, it was wet, the bed had no sheet, and there were no wifi connection. Of course, no breakfeast included. Obviously, the fare for such a room in Korcula is closest to 25-30 euros than to 66 !
A travel agent we met in Korcula told me that the Korcula Hotel did a lot of overbookin, and had to send guest to other hotel.
It seems were were the only ones to be send to a private “accomodation”. I must remain you that i booked hotels for my personnal and profession traveling in Croatia because I needed every service in my room, and in particular internet connection.
This it self is a scandal.
More than that is the behaviour of the Korcula Hotel manager this morning. When I brought back the keys of the “accomodation”, he asked me 66 euros in cash. In only wanted to pay by credit card, because I knew from his behaviour that this guy was not reliable. This Korcula Hotel organisation seems to accept as many reservations as possible, and to take as much cash money as possible from the clients.
For this reason I only wanted to pay by credit card, and said that the priced asked for the “accomodationn” was far too expansive. In such situation, honest hotel owner give at least an equivalent or a bette accomodation for the same price.
The hotel manager took my credit card, took the equivalent of 132 euros (not even 66!) and as I asked for a receipt, he gave me a receipt for room 301 in Korcula Hotel, ie a false document. This behaviour is the one of a thief or a criminal organisation.
I am now asking to all of you to take as soon as possible any measure to erase the criminal activities that took place in your city today. This is the only way that the shame of the Hotel Korcula doesn’t became the shame of every Korcula hotel.
